Join the Culpeper Police Department for an ALPR Community Town Hall focused on Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology and its use in our community. During this town hall, Chief of Police Chris Settle and Major/Deputy Chief Nick White discuss how ALPR technology works, how it is used by the Culpeper Police Department, and the policies and safeguards surrounding its use. Join us as we commemorate an important chapter in Culpeper's history with the Historic Marker Unveiling Ceremony honoring the Ann Wingfield School. This historic marker celebrates the remarkable legacy of Ann Slaughter Wingfield, who opened Culpeper's first public school in her dining room in 1871. Her vision and dedication to providing education for every child helped lay the foundation for public education in our community. More than 150 years later, Mrs. Wingfield's commitment to learning, opportunity, and service continues to inspire educators, students, and our community.
